Slide Shows

We need your help. Other forms of media are quickly replacing slide film and projectors. Please let us know whether you or your group would be more interested in viewing shows on Video, CD’s or DVD. DVD is the newest technology and has the advantage over CD’s of having the sound stay in sync with the slides.

Also, would you or your club, domestic or overseas, have an interest in buying our slide shows for $10 if they were on a CD or a DVD?

See booking form or let us know directly at the email address below.

How to Book Slide Show programs

Print Out Order Form

Use this link ( Slide Show Order Form) to print out the slide show order form. It is in Acrobat reader format (pdf file), and includes this entire page, including the list of  available slide shows. Furnish as many as three meeting dates with up to five (5) program choices total. Send it to the address shown in the form. Please include your email address, or include a self-addressed, stamped #10 envelope. A confirmation will be sent to you ASAP. Please expect secondary choices in some few cases.

Fees

If the programs are booked at least two months in advance, a payment of $5.00 per program must accompany your request. If bookings are made less than two months in advance, please add another $2.00 per program to offset the costs of sending the programs by first class mail. No bookings can be accepted less than 30 days in advance. Programs are normally sent by Library Rate, about $1.75 currently, and are insured for $50.00 for another $1.30. These are, of course, subject to change. Programs can be sent first class if appropriate postage and insurance fees are paid in advance.

At this time, the slide programs are intended for use by ATA Members as well as other interested parties in the fifty states and Puerto Rico only. We cannot honor foreign requests. However, please let us know if you or your group, whether in the USA or overseas, would be interested in obtaining these shows on a CD, DVD or Videotape. Enter this on the survey at the bottom of the form. It is very important, as it allows us to know whether we can justify placing our slide shows on newer media.

Returning Programs

Please complete the questionnaire form included with each program and return it with all the slides, script sheets and audio cassettes (if included) within a day following the showing. Please use the enclosed mail label. Note that it is not a prepaid label.

You must pay the library rate and the insurance fee for the value of $50.00. Please keep in mind that the normal time it takes the package to be sent within the continental US is ten days. Late returns will be assessed a $3.00 penalty as some other club may miss getting the program if you are late.

A Few Friendly Suggestions

We will include a few copies of the ATA membership forms with each program sent. Please hand these out personally to others in your club who are not ATA members. Remember that you can qualify for a discount in your dues by getting new members to join the ATA. We are always looking for new programs as well as updating old ones. Many of our programs are quire old. We invite you to submit your proposal and offer the finished program as a contribution to the ATA. It is less expensive to make multiple copies than to copy slides later.

Show times vary, but as a rule, allow approximately 30 - 60 seconds per slide. Audiotape use may shorten programs. Thank you for using the ATA Slide Program Service. Please address any questions to fwright2@rochester.rr.com
